My name is Yoonyoung Choi (call me Young). 

I am a doctoral candidate in the Department of Sociology at the Ohio State University. 

I am dedicated to investigating population and life-course dynamics, with a particular focus on health disparities, social determinants of mortality, and the intersection of family, gender, and immigration. My research aims to explore the intricate mechanisms underlying health disparities and mortality trends, shedding light on the impact of social conditions such as education, family formation, and immigration status on vulnerable populations. Through rigorous quantitative analysis and empirical research, I strive to uncover the complex relationships between social factors and health outcomes across the life course.
